St. Malachy

For 6 months in the year 2013 - March 2013 through August 2013 — 1 wrote 6 articles for this "End-Times Trumpet" internet site about the "Papal Prophecies Of St. Malachy", in which I examined the 112 "Papal Prophecies" given in a "vision" to a Catholic Bishop named Malachy O'Morgair from Armagh, Ireland, who in the year 1140 made a trip to Rome to see the "Holy City" and the then-reigning Pope — Pope Innocent II. While on that trip, when just outside of Rome, Bishop Malachy fell upon the ground and was given what he believed to be a "vision" of all the Popes who were to reign from his time until the reign of the final Pope who would be reigning during the time of the "Great Tribulation", and that final Pope he referred to as "Peter The Roman", as he wrote prophetically about the 112th Pope of the prophecy: "During the last persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there shall set Peter The Roman who will nourish his sheep amidst many Tribulations" (the "Great Tribulation" - Matt. 24:21) "and when these shall have passed the City of Seven Hills" (Rome) "shall be utterly destroyed and the Dreadful Judge" ("Tremendous Judge") "will judge the people."

In those 6 articles I examined each of the 112 "Papal Prophecies Of St. Malachy" in which "St. Malachy" identified each of the next 112 Popes with a Latin prophetic description, and I showed how that each of those 112 prophecies, beginning with the 1st Pope of the "Papal Prophecies" — the prophecy of the reign of Pope Celestine II (who was prophetically identified as "Ex Castro Tiberius " — "From A Castle On The Tiber") who reigned as Pope from Oct. 3, 1143 to Mar. 8, 1144, right up to and through the reign of Pope Benedict. XVI (now the "Emeritus Pope") — who was prophetically described as "De Gloria Olivae" ("The Glory Of The Olive") (the 111th Pope of the Prophecy), was absolutely fulfilled without question.

The problem with the "Papal Prophecies", however, which has "baffled" some, including myself up until now, is that while all of the first 111 of the Papal Prophecies (from Pope Celestine II — 1143-1144 — the 1st Pope of the Prophecies — through Pope Benedict XVI - 2005-2013 - the 111th Pope of the Prophecies) have absolutely been fulfilled and the reign of the 112th Pope of the Prophecy — that of "Peter The Roman" — seems not to be being fulfilled by the reign of the current Pope Francis, who should be the 112th Pope of the Prophecy — Pope "Peter The Roman" — in that Pope Francis did not take the papal name of "Pope Peter" nor is his actual name "Peter" (although he definitely does have some identification with the name of "Peter"). But after watching the reign of Pope Francis up until now, I have come to the conclusion that even though I initially thought that Pope Francis would fulfill the prophecy of "Peter The Roman", I have now come to the conclusion that the 111th Papal Prophecy of "The Glory Of The Olive" (which was fulfilled by the reign of Pope Benedict XVI) actually applied to both Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis, which is why there is no separate prophecy in the Papal Prophecies about Pope Francis. So in this article I want to show how that the 111th Papal Prophecy — the prophecy of "The Glory Of The Olive" — began to be fulfilled by the reign of Pope Benedict XVI, but because Pope Benedict XVI has not died but is still alive and is still a "Pope" as the "Emeritus Pope", the prophecy of "The Glory Of The Olive" still continues in effect and is therefore continuing to be fulfilled now by the now-reigning Pope — Pope Francis — who is "The Glory Of The Olive" Part 2. Therefore the reign of the final Pope of the Papal Prophecies — that of "Peter The Roman" — is still in the future. With that understanding let us look at the two Popes who are fulfilling "The Glory Of The Olive" prophecy.

Pope Benedict XVI - "The Glory Of The Olive" (Part 1)

Go to Benedictus XVI website.
Figure 2. Pope Benedictus XVI (Photo Credit: www.vatican.va)
(1) The Nation of Israel is identified in Rom. 11:17 under the symbol of a "good Olive tree" and Pope Benedict XVI Identified with the Nation of Israel in that:

(a) His official installation as Pope took place on the date of April 24, 2005 which was also the date of the Jewish Feast Of Passover, and in his speech/homily that day, Pope Benedict said: "I want to extend my greetings to the Jewish people all over the World who are my brothers and sisters."

(b) Pope Benedict XVFs actual name is Joseph Rat- zinger, and the name "Joseph" is a Jewish name: the same name as the Old Testament Patriarch Joseph and is also the same name as Joseph the earthly "father" of Jesus Christ.

(c) Pope Benedict XVI's parents were named Joseph and Maria ("Mary") the same names as the earthly parents of Jesus Christ (of the Nation of Israel). And Jesus Christ, as the eternal "Son of God" could also be identified as "The Glory Of The Olive-Tree Nation Of Israel".

(d) The Papal Coat Of Arms of Pope Benedict XVI pictures a "Moor's Head" (an Ethiopian King) on it named "Prestor John" and when Ethiopia had Kings, the Kings of Ethiopia traced their ancestry back to King Solomon (King of Israel) and the Queen of Sheba (IKings l0:l-3).

Fig. 4. "May 11, 2009 - Pope Benedict plants an olive tree with Israel's President Shimon Peres at the president's residence in Jerusalem." (Photo and Caption Credit: www.washingtonpost.com)
(e) While still serving as Pope, Pope Benedict XVI made a trip to Israel where before leaving Israel, he went to visit Israeli President Shimon Perez and there he planted an Olive Tree in the yard of President Peres — a symbol of "Peace" — to be a remaining symbol of his visit to Israel, which thus also identified him as "The Glory Of The Olive" Pope.

(2) An "Olive Branch" is a "symbol of Peace" and Pope Benedict XVI identified himself with "Peace" when he dedicated his Papacy to "World Peace" in honor of Pope Benedict XV.

In explaining why he chose the papal name of "Benedict", Pope Benedict XVI said, in a speech, after he chose that papal name: "Filled with sentiments of awe and thanksgiving, I want to speak of why I chose the name of 'Benedict'. Firstly I remember Pope Benedict XV (the Pope who reigned during World War I who offered a "Peace Plan" to try to bring an end to World War I) "that courageous Prophet Of Peace, who guided the Church through turbulent times of war. In honor of him, I place my ministry in the service of reconciliation and harmony between peoples."

(3) Pope Benedict XVI also chose the papal name of "Benedict" in honor of St. Benedict of Nursia who lived from 480-543 and was the founder of the "Benedictine Order" in the Catholic Church. Concerning the choice of the name "Benedict", Pope Benedict XVI, in his speech on the date of Apr. 27, 2005, in explaining why he chose the Papal name of "Benedict" said: "Additionally I recall Saint Benedict of Nursia, co-patron of Europe, whose life echoes the Christian roots of Europe. I ask him to help us all hold firm to the centrality of Christ in our Christian life; may Christ always take first place in our thoughts and actions." The interesting thing about Pope Benedict XVI choosing the papal name of "Benedict" in honor of "St. Benedict of Nursia" is the fact that the "Benedictine Order", which St. Benedict founded, has a division called "The Olivetians" whose symbol is an "Olive Branch ". It is also interesting to note that St. Benedict of Nursia, before he died in 543, prophesied that "In the last days there will rise to power a Benedictine Pope who will lead the Catholic Church in its fight against evil in the final days just before the beginning of the Apocalypse" (the "Great Tribulation").

Thus from all this we can see that the reign of Pope Benedict XVI definitely did fulfill the prophetic designation of "The Glory Of The Olive ", however Pope Benedict XVI cut his reign as Pope short by resigning to retire on the date of Feb. 28,2013 after which he was given the papal designation by the hierarchy of the Catholic Church of the "Emeritus Pope". Nearly every Pope has ended his papal reign by dying, which also brought an end to the Papal Prophecy about them. However, because Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI has not died but is still alive and is still a Pope as the "Emeritus Pope", the Papal Prophecy of "The Glory Of The Olive" (the prophecy about Pope Benedict XVI) is still in effect and will remain in effect until he dies. However, because he has resigned and was replaced by Pope Francis, the Papal Prophecy "The Glory Of The Olive" is therefore continuing to be fulfilled by the reign of Pope Francis.

Pope Francis — "The Glory Of The Olive" (Part 2)

While all of the previous 110 Papal Prophecies applied to only 1 Pope, I therefore, as well as many others who have studied the "Papal Prophecies" were mystified by the selection of Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio to be the next Pope, who took the papal name of "Pope Francis" because his actual name was not "Peter" nor did he take the papal name of "Pope Peter", since according to "The Papal Prophecies Of St. Malachy" the next and final Pope of the Papal Prophecies was to be known as "Peter The Roman". However after observing the reign of Pope Francis up until now, I have come to the conclusion that he is continuing to carry out the fulfillment of the 111th Papal Prophecy of "The Glory Of The Olive".

I believe that the reason why the Cardinals in Rome selected Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio to be the next Pope, who took the papal name of "Pope Francis" from St. Francis of Assisi, is that they were familiar with the "Papal Prophecies of St. Malachy" and they were aware that everyone of those first 111 "Papal Prophecies" had been fulfilled right up through and including the 111th Papal Prophecy of "The Glory Of The Olive" (which was fulfilled by the reign of Pope Benedict XVI) and they were determined that they were not going to select any Cardinal with the name of "Peter" (and there were, in fact, several high-ranking Cardinals who had the name of "Peter") because they wanted to make sure that the 112th and final prophecy of the "Papal Prophecies" did not come to pass because that prophecy foretold the destruction of the Vatican and the Papacy by the Antichrist during the reign of the Antichrist during the time of the "Great Tribulation" during the reign of Pope "Peter The Roman ".

True to their selection of Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio to be the next Pope, the Cardinals "did not select a Cardinal who had the name of "Peter" and neither did Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio select the papal name of "Peter". However, even though Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio ("Pope Francis") was not named "Peter" nor did he select the papal name of "Peter", yet he is identified with the name of "Peter" in the following ways:

1) After the selection of Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio to be the next Pope, he was then introduced to the World on the balcony of the Sistine Chapel as "Pope Francis" by a Cardinal whose name was "Jean-Louis Pierre" ("Peter") "Tauran". In other words: "Francis" was introduced to the World by "Peter"!

2) Pope Francis took his papal name of "Francis" from St. Francis of Assisi, and St. Francis of Assisi's father's name was "Peter".

3) Pope Francis is a member of the "Jesuits" and the "Jesuits" were founded in 1534 by three men: Ignatius of Loyola, St. FRANCIS Xavier, and "Blessed" Pierre ("Peter") Favre. In other words, two of the men that founded the Jesuits were named "Peter" and "Francis", so that the names of "Peter" and "Francis" were associated together in the founding of the Jesuits.

"Pope Francis, flanked by Cardinal Angelo Comastri, left, and Bishop Vittorio Lanzani, right, kneels in prayer in front of what is believed to be the burial site of St. Peter's in the necropolis where pagans and early Christians were buried under St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican, on April 1, 2013." (Photo/Caption Credit: AP Photo/L'Osservatore Romano www.cbsnews.com)
4) As Pope, Pope Francis has a "Petrine Ministry" ("Peter Ministry") as do all of the Popes in that the Catholic Church believes that the 1st Pope, which all the other Popes have succeeded, was the Apostle Peter.

5) On the date of Apr. 1, 2013 Pope Francis visited the Necropolis, an underground mausoleum underneath St. Peter's Basilica where he went to the "Tomb Of St. Peter" to invoke the blessing of the Apostle Peter upon his papal ministry, thus identifying himself with "St. Peter", as is seen in this picture from a news article by CBS News.

Pope Francis holds the relics of Saint Peter
Fig. 6. "Pope Francis holds the relics of Saint Peter on the altar during a mass at St Peter's Square at the Vatican." (Photo and Caption Credit: Stefano Rellandini/Reuters — www.theguardian.com)
6) Pope Francis, on the date of Nov. 24, 2013, brought out a box containing the bones of "St. Peter" for public viewing, thus again identifying himself with the Apostle Peter, as is documented by this news article from "The Guardian" titled "Vatican displays Saint Peter's bones for the first time".

We see, therefore, that even though Pope Francis actual name is not "Peter" nor did he take the Papal name of "Pope Peter" yet he is associated with the name of Peter. After observing the on-going papal ministry of Pope Francis, I have come to the conclusion that because Pope Benedict XVI resigned his position as the reigning Pope before he died (as all Popes end their papacy by dying) and he still continues to serve the Catholic Church as the "Emeritus Pope" that Pope Francis is simply completing the reign of Pope Benedict XVI who was prophetically identified as "The Glory Of The Olive " and thus Pope Francis is not fulfilling the 112th Papal Prophecy of "Peter The Roman" but rather is continuing the fulfillment of "The Glory Of The Olive" Papal Prophecy as that Papal Prophecy will remain in effect until the death of Pope Benedict XVI and because Pope Francis is also fulfilling that prophecy the prophecy of "The Glory Of The Olive" will also remain in effect until the death of Pope Francis as well as the death of Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI. This is noted by the fact that the "World symbol of Peace" is an Olive Branch, and while Pope Benedict XVI dedicated his papacy to "World Peace", Pope Francis is actually trying to bring "World Peace", particularly "Peace In The Middle East", as is seen by the fact that in a visit to the Middle East to the Nations of Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian Territory of The West Bank, Pope Francis invited President Shimon Peres (the now former President of Israel) and President Mahmoud Abbas (the President of the Palestinians) to visit him in Rome for a "Prayer Meeting For Middle East Peace" (which took place on the date of June 8, 2014).

Describing this meeting of Pope Francis and President Shimon Peres (now the former President of Israel) and President Mahmoud Abbas (President of the Palestinians) CNN World News, on the date of June 9, 2014 wrote: "Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli President Shimon Peres committed themselves to the quest for Peace Sunday during a meeting of key figures in the Middle East Peace process.

"The meeting came two weeks after the Pope invited the two Presidents to do so during his visit to the Holy Land."

While in the Holy Land of Israel on the date of May 26, 2014, Pope Francis, like his predecessor Pope Benedict XVI, whose term he, as the 2nd or continuation of "The Glory Of The Olive" Popes, planted an Olive Tree in the Presidential Garden of the Israeli Presidential Palace of Israeli President Shimon Peres as is pictured by Bishop William Murphy at: licatholic.org (The Long Island Catholic).

www.indcatholicnews.com — on the date of Monday, May 26, 2014 in a news article wrote: "Pope Francis and the President of the State of Israel — Shimon Peres — met in the Presidential Palace this morning. In what was described as a 'very cordial private meeting' the Holy Father said he would like to invent a new 'Beatitude': 'one that I can apply to myself today: Blessed is he who enters the house of a wise and good man.' They then left the building for the Palace Gardens to plant an Olive Tree together as a symbol of 'Peace'." And in planting an Olive Tree at the residence of Israeli President Shimon Peres, like his predecessor Pope Benedict XVI had done before him, Pope Francis also identified himself as the continuation of "The Glory Of The Olive" prophecy.

Showing his dedication to "Peace In The Middle East" (which further identified him as the continuation of "The Glory Of The Olive" Papal Prophecy) Pope Francis said: "I am grateful to you, Mr. President, for your kind and sage words of greeting and your warm welcome. I am happy to be able to meet you once again, this time in Jerusalem, the city which preserves the Holy Places dear to the three great religions which worships God who called Abraham. The Holy Places are not monuments or museums for tourists, but places where communities of believers daily express their faith and culture and carry out their works of charity. Precisely for this reason their sacred character must be perpetually maintained and protection given not only to the legacy of the past but also to all those who visit these sites today and to those who will visit them in the future. May Jerusalem truly be the City Of Peace."

Pope Francis plants olive tree in Gethsemane
Fig. 8. "Pope Francis plants olive tree in Gethsemane" (Photo/Caption Credit: ANSA — www.ansa.it)
Pope Francis also planted an Olive Tree, along with Israeli President Shimon Peres in the "Garden Of Gethsemane" where Jesus was arrested, thus further identifying himself as the continuation of "The Glory Of The Olive" Pope of the "Papal Prophecies Of St. Malachy", as is seen in this picture from ANSA English News.

CAW World, describing the "Invitation" of Pope Francis to the Israeli President Shimon Peres and the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to Rome for a "Prayer For Peace In The Middle East Prayer Meeting" said: "In this the birthplace of the Prince Of Peace, the Pope said in Bethlehem's Manger Square, following a May 25 Mass, 'I wish to invite you — President Mahmoud Abbas — together with President Shimon Peres" (the then President of Israel) "to join me in heartfelt prayer to God for the gift of Peace."

Peoplepc Online — on the date of June 8, 2014 in an AP article from Vatican City titled "Pope dives into Mideast Peace with Prayer Summit" stated: "Pope Francis plunged head-first into Mideast peace-making Sunday, welcoming the Israeli and Palestinian Presidents to the Vatican for a remarkable evening of peace prayers just weeks after the last round of U.S. sponsored negotiations collapsed.

"Israeli President Shimon Peres and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas joked and embraced in the foyer of the Vatican Hotel where Francis lives and later at the Vatican Gardens where they joined Francis in presiding over a Sunset Invocation of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim prayers.

"Pope Francis told the two men.. .that he hoped the Summit would mark 'a new journey' towards Peace. He said that too many children had been killed by war and violence, and that their memory should instill the strength and patience to work for dialogue and co-existence. 'Peacemaking calls for courage, much more then warfare,' he said: 'It calls for the courage to say 'yes' to encounter and 'no' to conflict.'

"The meeting cemented Francis reputation as a leader unhindered by diplomatic and theological protocol who is willing to 'go out on a limb' for Peace.

"The prayers focused on three themes common to each of the religions: thanking God for Creation, seeking forgiveness for past wrongdoing, and praying to God to bring Peace to the Region."

Israeli President "Peres, 90, deviated from his prepared remarks in the Garden to add a personal note as his term as Israeli President is coming to an end: 'I was young, now I am old,; he said, 'I experienced War, I tasted Peace. Never will I forget the bereaved families — parents and children — who paid the cost of War, and all my life I shall never stop to act for Peace for the generations to come. Let's all of us join hands and make it happen,' he said." Palestinian President "Abbas made a few political points, saying Palestinians craved Peace as well as 'dignified living' and 'freedom in our sovereign and independent State. We want Peace for us and for our neighbors.' he said.

"At the conclusion" Pope "Francis", President "Peres and" President "Abbas shook hands and planted an Olive Tree together as a 'Sign of Peace'."

Pope Francis attempts at "peace-making" in the Middle East between Israel and the Palestinians and his fascination with the planting of Olive Trees — Two Olive Trees in Israel in May 2014 and one Olive Tree together with former Israeli President Shimon Peres, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and also with Patriarch Bartholomew I of the Orthodox Church in Rome in June 2014 — shows that (like Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI before him) he is the continuation of the fulfillment of the Papal Prophecy Of St. Malachy of "The Glory Of The Olive", which Papal Prophecy was left uncompleted with the resignation/retirement of Pope Benedict XVI and which Papal Prophecy will not cease to be in effect until the death of Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI.

Pope Francis attempts at "peace-making" (as the continuation of the "Glory Of The Olive" Pope) was also seen in that in the month of August, 2014 he — Pope Francis — made a trip to the two Koreas of North Korea and South Korea where he "talked peace" to those two nations. An AP/Peoplepc internet news article of Aug. 18, 2014 read: "Pope Francis wrapped up his first trip to Asia on Monday by challenging the Koreans — from the North and the South — to reject the 'mindset of suspicion and confrontation' that clouds their relations and find new ways to forge peace on the war-divided peninsula."

Pope Franciscus
Fig. 10. "Pope Franciscus; Jorge Mario Bergoglio; 13.III.2013" (Photo/Caption Credit: w2.vatican.va)
It is true that there have been other Popes (mainly "Anti-Popes") who have resigned their office of Pope, like Pope Benedict XVI did, however none of them continued to carry the title of "Pope" after they resigned but rather reverted back to carrying the title of "Cardinal". Pope Benedict XVI is the only Pope to ever resign and then continue to carry the title of "Pope" as "Emeritus Pope" and to continue to wear the Papal Robes after their resignation. And thus the fact that Pope Benedict XVI did not end his papacy by dying, as all Popes do, but rather after his resignation/retirement he still continues to live and serve the Catholic Church by carrying the title of "Emeritus Pope" shows that the Papal Prophecy of "De Gloria Olivae" ("The Glory Of The Olive") still remains in effect and will remain in effect until the death of Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI and thus Pope Francis is simply carrying out and continuing "The Glory Of The Olive" Papal Prophecy, which because he also is fulfilling "The Glory Of The Olive" prophecy that Papal Prophecy will not conclude until he also has died, and interestingly when he was returning to Rome from the two Koreas in August, 2014 in discussing his health and his ministry as Pope he said to a journalist who was flying with him on the airplane: "It's two or three more years, then it's up to the Father's House". In making this statement Pope Francis seemed to be predicting his own death "in two or three more years ". And it will only be after the death of Pope Francis and Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI that the 112th and final "Papal Prophecy Of St. Malachy" will see fulfillment: the Papal Prophecy of "Peter The Roman" (who will actually be the 113th Pope of the Papal Prophecy).

The Bible — in Amos 3:7 — says of God: "Surely the Lord will do nothing but that He revealeth His secret unto His servants the Prophets." I believe that St. Malachy, because of the accuracy of the "Papal Prophecies" that he wrote, was indeed a "Prophet" in that he claimed to have received those prophecies from God in a "Vision", and the first 111 of those "Papal Prophecies" have proven to be "spot on" accurate right up to and including the 111th Papal Prophecy of "The Glory Of The Olive" which prophecy is being fulfilled by the reigns of Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis, and which Papal Prophecy will only conclude when both Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis are dead.

Biblically the "Olive Symbol" is an "end-times" symbol, as is seen by the fact that in Matt. 24 Jesus gave a detailed prophecy of the "End-Times" which prophecy was given on the Mt. of Olives, which prophecy is given the title "The Olivet Discourse", which therefore shows that the "Olive Symbol" has "end-times" significance.

We also note that when Jesus ascended into Heaven, that His Ascension took place at the site of the Mt. Of Olives, and as He ascended into Heaven two Angels appeared that announced (Acts 1:11) — "This same Jesus who is taken away from you into Heaven shall so come in like manner as you have seen Him go." And then the Bible — in Zech. 14:4 — foretells that when Jesus returns to the Earth at His "Second Coming" that He will return to the same site — the Mt. Of Olives"And His feet shall stand in that day upon the Mt. Of Olives which is before Jerusalem on the East and the Mt. Of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof..." Thus we see that both Jesus Ascension into Heaven and His Second Coming each took and takes place at the site of the Mt. Of Olives which also, therefore, gives "end-times" significance to the "Olive symbol". And the fact that both Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis are both identified with the "Olive Symbol" as the two "Glory Of The Olive" Popes shows that they are both, therefore, "end-times" Popes.

Once both Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis are dead then the 112th and final Papal Prophecy will be fulfilled by the 113th Pope of the Papal Prophecies and that Pope will be Pope "Peter The Roman" who will rise to power during the time or just before the time of the "Great Tribulation" (Matt. 24:21) during which time the reign of the Antichrist will take place, who will invade the city of Rome and take it over for his political headquarters of his "Revived Roman Empire" just as Rome was originally the headquarters of the original Roman Empire, and it doing so he will also burn the Vatican and try to destroy the Roman Catholic Church and will also perhaps even kill the Pope. This is foretold in the Bible in Rev. 17:16 — "And the ten horns" (10 Nations/Kings) "which you saw upon the Beast" (the Antichrist) "these shall hate the Whore" (the Roman Catholic Church — see my previous article: "The Prophetic Church Of Thyatira") "and shall make her desolate and naked and shall eat her flesh and burn her with fire."

This prophecy is also what is foreseen in the 112th and final "Papal Prophecy" of the "Papal Prophecies Of St. Malachy" which foretells: "During the last persecution of the Holy Roman Church there shall set Peter the Roman who will nourish his sheep amidst many Tribulations" (the "Great Tribulation" — Matt. 24:21) "and when these shall have passed the City Of Seven Hills" (Rome/the Vatican) "shall be utterly destroyed and the Dreadful Judge" (God/Jesus Christ) "will judge the people."

Lightning strikes the very apex of St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican.
Fig. 11. Lightning strikes the very apex of St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican. (Photo Credit: Filippo Monteforte AFP/Getty Images www.mostholyfamilymonastery.com)
God seemed to give a "forewarning" of this future judgment upon the Vatican and the Catholic Church by virtue of the fact that the night of the very same day that Pope Benedict XVI resigned his Papacy to go into retirement as the "Emeritus Pope" (Feb. 28, 2013) the very Apex of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican in Rome was struck by lightning, not only once but twice, which according to records had never occurred before. This seemed to be a two-fold warning from God that "end-times" judgment was getting ready to come upon the Vatican and the Catholic Church.

Now let me speculate about the prophetically foretold final Pope, who Malachy calls 'Peter The Roman' who will govern the Roman Catholic Church during the time of the 'Great Tribulation'. It seems to me that the most likely candidate for the final Pope — Pope 'Peter The Roman' — is the current Vatican/Papal Secretary Of State — Cardinal Pietro Parolin — who, after Pope Francis is the next in command in the Vatican.

Cardinal Pietro ('Peter') Parolin
Fig. 12. "His Eminence Pietro Parolin; Cardinal Secretary of State" (Photo/Caption Credit: www.wikipedia.org)
Cardinal Pietro ('Peter') Parolin has been on a 'fast-track' rise to power in the Roman Catholic Church (as though by design from God to fulfill the final papal prophecy of 'Peter The Roman') in that he was Ordained as a Priest by Cardinal Arnoldo Onisto on the date of April 27, 1980; he was 'Consecrated' by Pope Benedict XVI on the date of Sept. 12, 2009; he was appointed as Vatican/Papal Secretary Of State by Pope Francis on the date of Oct. 15, 2013; and he was given the rank of Cardinal by Pope Francis on the date of Feb. 22, 2014.

Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin's Coat of Arms
Fig. 13. Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin's Coat of Arms. (Photo Credit: www.wikipedia.org)
I believe that ater the deaths of Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis that Cardinal / Vatican Secretary Of State Pietro Parolin will most likely be elected as the next Pope and will then go on to fulfill the final Papal Prophecy of 'Peter The Roman'. I believe this for 3 reasons:

1) His first name is 'Pietro' which means 'Peter';

2) He IS a Roman in that he is an Italian Cardinal who was born Jan. 17, 1955 in Schiavon, Italy; and,

3) As Vatican/Papal Secretary Of State he is 2nd in command in the Vatican after Pope Francis.

Now whether or not Papal/Vatican Secretary-Of-State — Cardinal Pietro Parolin — actually is elected as the next Pope and whether or not he actually does go on to fulfill the final Papal Prophecy of 'Peter The Roman' or not, remains to be seen as time will tell. However, this is a very intriguing 'sign' that the 'end-times' are upon us, so "Even so, come Lord Jesus!" — Rev. 22:20.
